Matt Israelson, owner of DYNA MAXX Fitness Systems, competing in the powerlifting squat

Matt Israelson is the founder and owner of DYNA MAXX. He has a Bachelors of Science in Sports Medicine and has a Professional Certification in Fitness Instruction. He is also a member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM.ORG). Matt has approximately 18,000 hours of one on one and team training. From 1995 to 2006 he was an instructor in Advanced Weight Training and Sports Nutrition at the University of Southern Maine where he designed and presented the curriculum for both courses.

While attaining his degree Matt completed a seven week rotation at one of the leading orthopaedic clinics in New England. His rotations included close observation of surgical knee and shoulder reconstruction as well as patient follow up and care. He continues his affiliation today. He has spent approximately 1,000 hours observing and assisting a leading orthopaedic surgeon at Portland High School Football games as well as another 600 hours observing and assisting with the same surgeon at NCAA Hockey games. Matt has and continues to promote and coordinate top level powerlifting competitions with over 50 under his belt to date. He has also promoted dozens bodybuilding championships.

Matt spent 8 years coaching high school football including as an assistant varsity football coach at several greater Portland High Schools, 2 years as head freshman football coach for Portland and Cheverus High. As head freshmen coach his ’85 Cheverus and ’86 Portland teams were undefeated. From 2002 to 2008 he was the full time head coach of strength and conditioning at Portland High School. In 2002 they were Class A State Champions.
